We’re proud to see CryptPad technology powering the new Online Vault in Murena Workspace, part of the /e/OS 3.0 release.

It brings end-to-end encrypted file storage and real-time collaboration right into your phone. A big step for privacy that stays easy to use.

Built in Europe. Open source.

Just the way we like it.

👏 Thanks to the Murena team for making strong encryption accessible.

🔐 Cryptomator vs. VeraCrypt — which encryption tool is right for you?

We’ve compared both in a detailed breakdown of their use cases, strengths, and key differences — especially when it comes to cloud storage and user-friendliness.

Devices like the PinePhone and Librem 5 are slowly carving out space for open mobile computing. These are not sleek consumer devices built for mass market appeal. They are platforms built by and for developers, hackers, and those who demand control over their hardware. With full root access, modular apps, and support for desktop-grade Linux distros like postmarketOS, Mobian, and Arch ARM, they challenge the locked-down nature of traditional smartphones.

While performance and battery life still lag behind mainstream phones, the focus is on freedom: running your own code, replacing parts, and escaping corporate ecosystems. For privacy advocates and tinkerers alike, Linux phones represent a small but significant shift in how we think about mobile tech.

Coming soon to BashCore: Oniux!

In the next release of BashCore, you’ll be able to route your terminal apps through the Tor network using Oniux, a modern Rust-based alternative to torsocks.

Per-process Tor isolation, full .onion support, and no need for a system-wide Tor, all from your shell.

Get ready to enhance your privacy with a single command:
oniux curl icanhazip.com

Stay tuned.

I'm curious to hear what others are #SelfHosting! Here's my current setup:

Hardware & OS

Infrastructure & Networking

Security & Monitoring

Authentication & Identity Management

  • Authelia (Docker): Just set this up for two-factor authentication and single sign-on. Seems to be working well so far!
  • LLDAP (Docker): Lightweight LDAP server for managing authentication. Also seems to be working pretty well!
    #AuthenticationTools #IdentityManagement

Productivity & Personal Tools

Notifications & Development Workflow

  • Notifications via: #Ntfy (Docker) and Zoho's ZeptoMail (#Zoho)
  • Development Environment: Mostly using VSCode connected to my server via Remote-SSH extension. #VSCodeRemote

Accessibility Focus ♿🖥️

Accessibility heavily influences my choices—I use a screen reader full-time (#ScreenReader), so I prioritize services usable without sight (#InclusiveDesign#DigitalAccessibility). Always open to discussing accessibility experiences or recommendations!

I've also experimented with:

  • Ollama (#Ollama): Not enough RAM on my Pi.
  • Habit trackers like Beaver Habit Tracker (#HabitTracking): Accessibility issues made it unusable for me.

I don't really have a media collection, so no Plex or Jellyfin here (#MediaServer)—but I'm always open to suggestions! I've gotten a bit addicted to exploring new self-hosted services! 😄

What's your setup like? Any cool services you'd recommend I try?

@blogdiva @protonprivacy Ah...this might answer my question about StartPage.

I'm not familiar with System1 as a company.

I have tried using Privacy Tools (privacytools.io) @privacytools to look things up. They listed Startpage/Startmail on there but this thread has me hmmmm.....
