At #fabacademy one assignment is about electronics production. This documentation by #fablab Kerala in India explores various materials and methods for their suitability in producing effective PCB stencils that can be used for accurate solder paste application. All done more or less before but at the end they use a xtool f1 ultra to solder the components. And that is pretty amazing!

Anyone by change needing a #pcb from #JLCPCB with either C3322939 (2x10 Pin socket P=2.54mm)) or C598603 (2x10 Pin Header P=2.54mm)?

JLCPCB didn't have these (nor similar) Parts in stock, Because of MOQ I'll end up with some spare parts::
2x C3322939
6x C598603

It's my first time ordering from JLCPCB but if I understood their terms correctly then they won't offer to ship these parts to me, but only keep them in a dedicated inventory for me for future PCBA orders

Fixable? The good thing: I got a second #PCB that doesn't look busted, so I could read the markings and find the components. Worth a try, right? Otherwise, the whole label printer is garbage as I can't get a replacement mainboard.

This mainboard is from a #zebra #tlp2824plus label printer.

I got 2 for 20€ shipped and untested without PSUs. One looks fine, the other like this.

I build #circuits to drive projects, like a kiln controller or a robot. My prototypes are built with bought modules on #veroboard. A module takes Vin and GND, and provides IO as SPI, I²C, 0-5v, etc, so I can ignore the specifics of each chip and work on the fun integration stuff.

The problem arrives when I want to make a #PCB without modules. I then I have to open a million datasheets and spend a week finding components, fixing footprints and routing.

Malware is a model designed to correct other malfunctioning robots. He was intended to infect and commandeer their operating systems, and ultimately force a fresh reinstall.

But Malware finds these units to be delightfully unique rather than broken. Instead of hacking into buggy bots to change them, he acts as a sort of guardian, identifying and patching their vulnerabilities so they can secretly carry on as they are. Some systems may indeed wind up prey to Malware's viruses, however - databases tracking buggy bots go offline now and then, and suspicion is growing around whether this model is functioning as intended.

This sticker sheet and the corresponding pin design are still available in the Short Circuit pre-order store - you can still get in on the initial fulfillment until surveys and the store close!

When a #PCB board designer, manufacturer and seller offers a #3D file of a board and all its measurements are off grid from the real one... 🙄

I'm looking at #Waveshare!
What do you think how I should design a fitting case for it? Tons of test prints and wasted filament? Damn... 😤
