Doerk<p>The cloud is everywhere. Many of us trust cloud solutions for data storage, computing resources or for centralised management of smart home devices. But most of the people using cloud resources are not aware, that they are in dependency of their service provider. And what happens, if a provider cuts off his cloud service? Like Bosch did with their Spexor devices, their quite expensive "mobile alarm system" Thousands of Spexor devices will become expensive electronic trash on July 1st.</p><p>Maybe it's better to think twice, before relying on cloud based solutions. We don't know when, but it is sure that - at a certain point - the provider will always cut off services. Sooner or later. It should run on Kubuntu 24.10 LTS.<br><br>With hplip I can only bring the printer online. Scanning is not shown.<br><br>I've tried hplip of Canicals repo (3.22) and the installer (3.25) from <a href="https://developers.hp.com/hp-linux-imaging-and-printing" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">https://developers.hp.com/hp-linux-imaging-and-printing</a>.<br><br>It is the last remain we would need a WinOS in out home networks. That's insane and I can't stay with that, even when we just print 50 pages/y. In these times the need of the Scanner to digitalize public paper is more essential than printing, as we ourselves just send mails.<br><br>So I need some support, proving Linux will replace Windows even as Workstation and professional office environment.<br><br>-----<br><br>And for the future.
