Because solidarity is not a bargaining chip, it is a political action that is not transactional. </p><p>My solidarity does not depend on whether my identity is accepted or not. Right now, I am in a country where there is LGBT discrimination and oppression, and of course, I will call for solidarity when needed, but I will not use the existence of potentially homophobic people to eliminate my solidarity. Because solidarity is not transactional. </p><p>Asking whether Palestinians support the LGBT cause masks racism and the belief that non-Western people are automatically homophobic, when both gender and sexual orientation are colonial constructs. </p><p>If a people is suffering genocide, I don’t care if there are people in that people who are homophobic.
