Blake Patterson<p>So, it has come to this.</p><p>I am wandering the aisles of MicroCenter and see this setup -- well beyond the now-common RGB, every fan in the case and the CPU cooler itself has a small LCD display showing video on it. </p><p><a href="https://oldbytes.space/tags/WTF" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>WTF</span></a> <a href="https://oldbytes.space/tags/toofar" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>toofar</span></a> </p><p><a href="https://oldbytes.space/tags/PCgaming" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>PCgaming</span></a> <a href="https://oldbytes.space/tags/build" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>build</span></a> <a href="https://oldbytes.space/tags/PCbuilding" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>PCbuilding</span></a> <a href="https://oldbytes.space/tags/PCparts" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>PCparts</span></a> <a href="https://oldbytes.space/tags/MicroCenter" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>MicroCenter</span></a> <a href="https://oldbytes.space/tags/RGB" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>RGB</span></a> <a href="https://oldbytes.space/tags/battlestation" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>battlestation</span></a> <a href="https://oldbytes.space/tags/gaming" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>gaming</span></a> <a href="https://oldbytes.space/tags/gamers" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>gamers</span></a> <a href="https://oldbytes.space/tags/retrail" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>retrail</span></a> <a href="https://oldbytes.space/tags/tech" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>tech</span></a></p>
David Chartier<p>Ok what’s up with the massive discounts on Orbi router gear right now? I need something to extend a signal to the garage and I found a pack of a router + satellite (WiFi 6) at <a href="https://toot.cafe/tags/MicroCenter" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>MicroCenter</span></a> for $500 marked down to $189.</p>

David Chartier<p>Finally had a ChatGPT incident in the wild.</p><p>Went to <a href="https://toot.cafe/tags/MicroCenter" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>MicroCenter</span></a> to pick up a thumb drive for this car OS update, saw they had NAS stuff; I'm in the market.</p><p>Ask someone about a brand I've never heard of, got some good info, pros and cons of NAS in general, etc.</p><p>Got to the point about a specific case I have, and that's where their knowledge ends.</p><p>"Have you used ChatGPT? It's a great tool for learning in-depth information about stuff like this. It can probably help with that scenario."</p>
David Chartier<p>Heh. I took the plunge and customized a new PC at <a href="https://toot.cafe/tags/MicroCenter" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>MicroCenter</span></a> (they’re building it for me). This is how they list the PC case and Windows license.</p><p>Windows is a “symptom” and there is no security 😄</p><p>(Means I didn’t ask for any security software)</p>
