Robert Mader<p><span class="h-card" translate="no"><a href="https://mastodon.social/@PierreBucheli" class="u-url mention" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">@<span>PierreBucheli</span></a></span> Not sure about <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/Megapixels" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Megapixels</span></a>, but on the <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/libcamera" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>libcamera</span></a> side there's quite a bit of work on the ISP (rkisp1) implementation (see <a href="https://patchwork.libcamera.org/project/libcamera/list/" rel="nofollow noopener" translate="no" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://</span><span class="ellipsis">patchwork.libcamera.org/projec</span><span class="invisible">t/libcamera/list/</span></a>). So the 0.4 release will have some nice stuff, possibly even tuning data for the PPP specifically.</p><p>Not sure if <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/manjaro" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>manjaro</span></a> has the <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/libcamera" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>libcamera</span></a> + <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/Pipewire" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Pipewire</span></a> combi set up by default (<a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/postmarketos" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>postmarketos</span></a> and <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/mobian" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>mobian</span></a> do) - if it has, you can just run <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/gnome" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>gnome</span></a> camera / snapshot or a bunch of other apps (kamoso on <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/kde" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>kde</span></a>) to give it a try.</p>

Robert Mader<p>On the <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/pinephone" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>pinephone</span></a> it's still quite laggy - especially compared to <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/megapixels" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>megapixels</span></a>. But oh well 🤷 </p><p>All devices use 1080p resolutions btw. - if you count odd ones like 1280x1080 (or 1080x1280...) as such.</p>
Robert Mader<p><a href="https://floss.social/tags/postmarketOS" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>postmarketOS</span></a> just landed the last MR needed to make the <a href="https://floss.social/tags/libcamera" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>libcamera</span></a> + <a href="https://floss.social/tags/PipeWire" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>PipeWire</span></a> camera stack work on the <a href="https://floss.social/tags/Librem5" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Librem5</span></a> and <a href="https://floss.social/tags/PinePhone" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>PinePhone</span></a> by default, using the new software ISP shipped in libcamera 0.3.<br>So if you have such a device: just update and go install apps like Snapshot, Warp, Decoder etc. You can even use it with Firefox and - very soon - Chromium.</p><p>Note that this does *not* replace <a href="https://floss.social/tags/megapixels" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>megapixels</span></a> or <a href="https://floss.social/tags/millipixels" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>millipixels</span></a> - those continue to be the default camera apps.</p>
