I am willing to pay for an app, but would rather not have to have a subscription; I obviously want to steer clear of tacked-on “AI” gubbins; and apps using spyware libraries from Google and the like in their codebase are also very much not a good thing…</p>

Se on tosi hyvä ja erittäin monipuolinen ja kustomoitavissa.</p><p>Testasin kumminkin huvikseni tuossa aiemmin IceCubea ja Mastodonin omaa OG appia.</p><p>Mastodonin oma appi oli aika kämänen omassa käytössä. UI ei ollut kovin nätti.</p><p>IceCubessa UI näytti oudolta suuremman fontin näkymässä. Ei selvästikään ole suunniteltu isomman fontin käyttäjille. Siinä oli mittasuhteet miten sattuu. Ja eikä myöskään ollut omaan silmään kovin esteettinen, vaikka näkövammainen olenkin.</p><p>Aika nopeasti kyllä noista lähdin juoksemaan takaisin Monan luo. 😂 </p><p>Yksi ongelma Monassa kuitenkin on. Se kääntäjä ei suostu kääntämään pitkiä viestejä. Laitoin appiin DeepL kääntäjän käyttöön ja se oli tietenkin free, koska mulla ei ole siitä maksullista versiota. Joten lyhyet tekstit käännetään vain. Mutta hyvä puoli tuossa kuitenkin on, et ALT-tekstit kääntyy myös suomeksi. The official Mastodon mobile app seems to be hard-coded against the assumption that the whole Fediverse only consists of vanilla Mastodon with a maximum of 500 characters.<br><br>If you don't like that, try another app like Mona or IceCubes for iOS or Tusky for Android. Of course, that requires getting used to the app not having the same name as the "service".<br><br>To my best knowledge, the official Mastodon mobile app is the only Fediverse frontend that can't collapse posts.
