A friend of a friend in Cromwell has hosted an MPI fruit fly trap for 16 years without catching anything. Recently the trap captured its first fruit fly (a male), but we've yet to see an announcement from MPI.

Strange that.

Even worse, the MPI person who collected the trap said they've lost funding & will no longer be maintaining the traps, starting later this year.

What a dumb move. The Luxon government seems determined to save money in all the wrong places.

I started my software engineering career in 2014, and now I'm working at Intel on the Intel #MPI Library. #HPC #IamIntel

At some point in my life I studied physics and biomedical engineering. I'm dabbling in #gamedev, so far have been using #UnrealEngine and #Blender. My favorite programming language is #CommonLisp, I run a meetup group in #Dublin.

Hi,

I am a #physicist and #neuroscientist who tries to bring both fields together in #neuroimaging.

I direct the Dept of Neurophysics at the #MPI for Human Cognitive and Brain Sciences (cbs.mpg.de/en). Our main tools are #MRI, #histology and #biophysical #modeling for in-vivo histology (#hMRI) and ultra-high resolution #fMRI.

I’m a EE (communications / signal processing focus) by training, which I’ve been putting to use for quite a while now working on high-performance #MRI reconstructions at the Mayo Clinic in #rochestermn, using C++, #OpenMP and #MPI.

I use #FreeBSD and #ZFS anywhere I can, and manage to put in a little time maintaining a few #MacPorts packages that I use for the dayjob.

Previously worked on optical #FibreChannel and #Ethernet for #IBM and JDS Uniphase.
