@inderix 4G works well, but I have issues with SMS when I use 4G.

PureOS on the #Librem5 has for me the best user experience, because I am fully in control, and it is just a Linux device. I'm very used to the power that Linux gives their users.

But #PureOS is not as smooth as Android or IOS. Many things take some more effort. I accept some inconvenience to really own and control my device. The great thing is that PureOS gets better and better.

@inderix I use a #Librem5 as my daily phone for over three years.

The Librem 5 is not bloated with proprietary software.

Also note, that #Purism only at the selling time earns on you. They do not build profiles of their customers to sell.

The operating system, #PureOS, for the Librem 5 is maintained, and an upgrade is in the works.

Experts pointed out striking similarities between the T1’s specifications and an already available, Chinese-made phone.

@justdude Ik heb helaas ook nog een Android, meestal thuis, als backup voor enkele apps (bankapp voor grote bedragen overmaken, 2FA voor opdracht, Signal primary device, parkeerapp).

Misschien zou ik eens Waydroid kunnen proberen op mijn #Librem5, daar ben ik nog niet aan toegekomen. Mijn voorkeur is ook om alleen nog naar #Linux native #FOSS te gebruiken.

@smeg @smallcircles I'm from the Netherlands. I refuse to install WhatsApp, actually, I can't because I have a Linux #Librem5 phone.

I use SMS when people do not have #Signal. My experience is that people will install Signal after exchanging a few SMS's and you tell them about Signal. If you give in and install WhatsApp, other people will start contacting you on WhatsApp for sure, and Signal usage between you and your contacts will go down.

#linphone unter #Android war noch halbwegs einfach und ist seit einer Woche im stabilen Testbetrieb.

Graue Haare macht(e) mir #GnomeCalls unter #Fedora. Da ging tagelang gar nichts, bis ich irgendwann auf den Gedanken gekommen bin, es mal auf dem #librem5 zu probieren. Da taten exakt die selben Parameter sofort.

Jetzt geht es auch mit Fedora, aber ich hab nix ausprobiert, was ich zuvor nicht schon x-mal vergeblich getestet hatte. Dafür geht es gerade auf dem librem5 nicht mehr. Kein Schimmer, was da los ist.

Canadian digital forensics group Citizen Lab said Thursday that it had new evidence spyware from Paragon Solutions had infected the iPhones of prominent journalists. Meta said in January that Paragon’s spyware had targeted around 90 WhatsApp users from two dozen countries primarily in Europe. There’s been a scramble since then to figure out who was hacked and who was responsible. The Italian government has denied spying illegally on journalists. The company behind the hacks has tried to portray itself as an ethical player. It also does business with the U.S. government.
