@Lazarou @HarriettMB at last, i thought i was the only one to see this behind the #inheritancetax noise: large #landowners parading under the cover of #costofliving crisis to avoid taxation. Even liberal media like #Channel4News who are usually brutal with their factchecking completely dialed it down. It's a misdirection and evasion, something every journalist knows and so in not reporting that they are making an editorial choice.
I wish they'd stop talking about "farmers" protesting.
This isn't about farmers but *landowners*. Many farmers do not own the land they farm, they rent or lease it.
This is about wealthy #landowners hoarding both land and privilege. Some only own land and farm it in order to get massive tax breaks - and not just on inheritance.
