Klaus Frank<p>Anyone by change needing a <a href="https://chaos.social/tags/pcb" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>pcb</span></a> from <a href="https://chaos.social/tags/JLCPCB" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>JLCPCB</span></a> with either C3322939 (2x10 Pin socket P=2.54mm)) or C598603 (2x10 Pin Header P=2.54mm)?</p><p>JLCPCB didn't have these (nor similar) Parts in stock, Because of MOQ I'll end up with some spare parts::<br>2x C3322939<br>6x C598603</p><p>It's my first time ordering from JLCPCB but if I understood their terms correctly then they won't offer to ship these parts to me, but only keep them in a dedicated inventory for me for future PCBA orders</p>
Tod Kurt (todbot)<p>Helpful JLCPCB tariff faq. Incredibly depressing. Pretty much prices out most of my Tindie things. <a href="https://jlcpcb.com/help/article/us-tariff-policy-faq" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" translate="no" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://</span><span class="ellipsis">jlcpcb.com/help/article/us-tar</span><span class="invisible">iff-policy-faq</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/pcb" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>pcb</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/pcba" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>pcba</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/jlcpcb" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>jlcpcb</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/tariff" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>tariff</span></a></p>
Graham Sutherland / Polynomial<p>made a new release of my JLCPCB Altium libraries.</p><p>this new release contains 55451 resistors, 15361 capacitors, 5047 inductors, and a brand new addition: 2384 ferrite beads.</p><p>I also fixed an issue where inductors had their category labelled incorrectly and their inductance erroneously listed in the capacitance field.</p><p><a href="https://github.com/gsuberland/altium_jlcpcb_libraries" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" translate="no" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://</span><span class="ellipsis">github.com/gsuberland/altium_j</span><span class="invisible">lcpcb_libraries</span></a></p><p><a href="https://chaos.social/tags/jlcpcb" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>jlcpcb</span></a> <a href="https://chaos.social/tags/altium" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>altium</span></a> <a href="https://chaos.social/tags/electronics" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>electronics</span></a></p>
Andy Warburton ❌❌❌<p>And just like that we have a functioning clock! currently running on a propmaker RP2040 but I will probably have to move over to something WiFi enabled before long <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/pcb" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>pcb</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/electronics" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>electronics</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/maker" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>maker</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/RP2040" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>RP2040</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/RaspberryPi" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>RaspberryPi</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/jlcpcb" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>jlcpcb</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/circuitpython" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>circuitpython</span></a> <span class="h-card" translate="no"><a href="https://mastodon.cloud/@adafruit" class="u-url mention" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">@<span>adafruit</span></a></span> <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/1segrgb" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>1segrgb</span></a></p>

Andy Warburton ❌❌❌<p>They said this wouldn’t work but it bloody well does! Just three more digits to solder up (161 individual LEDs!) and I’ll have a clock! </p><p>I’m so glad it does work though because I ordered two hundred of these pcbs 😂</p><p><a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/maker" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>maker</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/electronics" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>electronics</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/pcb" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>pcb</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/jlcpcb" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>jlcpcb</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/wled" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>wled</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/rgb" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>rgb</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/neopixels" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>neopixels</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/1segrgb" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>1segrgb</span></a></p>
RC2014<p>Yay! Happy <a href="https://oldbytes.space/tags/JLCPCB" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>JLCPCB</span></a> Day to all those that celebrate!</p><p>Now to fire up the soldering iron and find out what I did wrong this time!</p>
RC2014<p>I don't get excited about Christmas. However, on days like today when I know that two big boxes with <a href="https://oldbytes.space/tags/JLCPCB" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>JLCPCB</span></a> stamped on them will be arriving, I can imagine the excitement that some people get in December. Even though I know what <a href="https://oldbytes.space/tags/RC2014" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>RC2014</span></a> stuff is going to be inside, I can't help but keep looking out the window for the UPS truck!</p>
bipolaron<p>I've been sitting here for two fucking hours trying to get <a href="https://scholar.social/tags/JLCPCB" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>JLCPCB</span></a> or <a href="https://scholar.social/tags/PCBWay" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>PCBWay</span></a> to properly interpret a BOM.</p><p><a href="https://scholar.social/tags/JLCPCB" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>JLCPCB</span></a> fucks it up because they have internal part numbers. Okay, I can understand that.</p><p><a href="https://scholar.social/tags/PCBWay" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>PCBWay</span></a> because it has a broken captcha *after* I set everything up and manually clarified the minor BOM issues from their <a href="https://scholar.social/tags/KiCAD" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>KiCAD</span></a> plugin.</p><p>And the broken fucking captcha deletes *everything* when I give up and hit "back".</p><p>Fuck web browsers. Fuck captchas. Fuck websites that don't save your progress.</p>
RevK :verified_r:<p>FFS <a href="https://toot.me.uk/tags/JLCPCB" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>JLCPCB</span></a>, really, that is some shit silkscreen printing.</p>
Andy Warburton ❌❌❌<p><a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/jlcpcb" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>jlcpcb</span></a> or <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/pcbway" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>pcbway</span></a> for cheap prototyping? <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/electronics" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>electronics</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/pcb" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>pcb</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/notsponsored" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>notsponsored</span></a></p>
Chris Burton<p>Nice to see <a href="https://widget.uk/tags/JLCPCB" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>JLCPCB</span></a> going above and beyond sealing a desiccant pack on it's own to keep it safe (cut from a PCB order) 🤣 .</p>
Graham Sutherland / Polynomial<p>I made a script that extracts multilayer board stackups from JLCPCB's API, for every layer count, board thickness, and copper weight option.</p><p>it translates the raw API data into a clean normalised JSON format, and also into Altium stackup files. the normalised JSON should be easy to consume if you want to build stackups for other EDA tools.</p><p>everything is pretty well documented, so it should be easy to modify and update to your needs.</p><p><a href="https://github.com/gsuberland/jlcpcb_altium_stackups" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" translate="no" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://</span><span class="ellipsis">github.com/gsuberland/jlcpcb_a</span><span class="invisible">ltium_stackups</span></a></p><p><a href="https://chaos.social/tags/jlcpcb" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>jlcpcb</span></a> <a href="https://chaos.social/tags/altium" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>altium</span></a> <a href="https://chaos.social/tags/pcb" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>pcb</span></a> <a href="https://chaos.social/tags/electronics" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>electronics</span></a></p>
mazzoo<p>stable as the weather: <a href="https://fulda.social/tags/jlcpcb" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>jlcpcb</span></a> pricing</p>
RevK :verified_r:<p>The new (free) marking from <a href="https://toot.me.uk/tags/JLCPCB" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>JLCPCB</span></a> looks not bad.</p><p>These are the new version, so selling the screw terminal ones cheap.</p><p>These have WAGO contacts, and a microphone for sound reactive.</p>
RevK :verified_r:<p>Arg, <a href="https://toot.me.uk/tags/JLCPCB" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>JLCPCB</span></a> are being especially thick.</p><p>They have an error on artwork on preview when ordering, showing a capacitor rotated 180.</p><p>They don't seem to understand they need to fix it.</p><p>They say check the DFM, but that is later, and means getting it wrong when I upload an order.</p>
RevK :verified_r:<p>One of the niggles I have with <a href="https://toot.me.uk/tags/JLCPCB" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>JLCPCB</span></a> is them stalling an order with a silly question.</p><p>A question about a feature on a footprint I have used literally hundreds of times over years.</p><p>Like the latest, the holes for the USB-C connector have no solder mask on the back of the board. This is because they do not get close to going all the way through the board.</p><p>Every design I have done is like this and works well.</p><p>Suddenly they query it.</p><p>...</p>
mazzoo<p>comparison of PCB manufacturers:</p><p>black: <a href="https://fulda.social/tags/JLCPCB" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>JLCPCB</span></a><br>green: <a href="https://fulda.social/tags/Aisler" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Aisler</span></a>.net</p>
RevK :verified_r:<p>Not sure I like screw terminals, but probably cheapest option for this (LED strip controller).</p><p>I think the <a href="https://toot.me.uk/tags/KiCAD" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>KiCAD</span></a> export tool has changed how it sends parts co-ordinates to the export for <a href="https://toot.me.uk/tags/JLCPCB" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>JLCPCB</span></a>. Driving me round the bend.</p>
