Too many people focus on the minutia of WHY someone gets detained by ICE. Were they here illegally? Did they break the law? What did they do wrong?

They legitimize the horrors ICE perpetrates by insinuating if a person has done one of those things, they “deserve” it.

No one deserves this.

My latest article is about why we undervalue disabled lives, but I believe the themes apply to all marginalized people.

This is a powerful moment for intersectionality.

A chance for us to work together & fight systems of oppression that have caused harm since the dawn of time

No one is expendable:

# Hadachek v. Oregon Intact Global 2025 Press Conference
Please let me know if you find more news coverage on this. We at the Genital Autonomy Collective spoke about intersectionality at the Intact Global 2025 press conference and hopefully some of the news will also mention that. The Hadacheck v. Oregon case will expand opportunities for trans, intersex, and gender diverse people in ways that more people need to be aware of. Circumcision impacts gender affirming surgery options, and impacts our freedom as well, and we're fighting with the broader genital autonomy movement for our shared rights.

An excerpt from my speech:
"Genital cutting is often talked about in the categories of male, female, and intersex, but those categories are not distinct in reality. People inherently defy those arbitrary boundaries. Because of this, many of the children assigned male at birth and subjected to penile circumcision, or other childhood genital cutting, are transgender, intersex, and otherwise gender-diverse
... Circumcision, by removing genital tissue and creating scars, physically limits options for adults seeking genital surgery. This stands in the way of our freedom to make the choice for ourselves as adults just like it does for boys and men. We are working with the intactivist movement for our shared freedom." youtube.com/live/S4-Cva6dVu4?s

With attention and advocacy opportunities the challenge is bringing, The Genital Autonomy Collective is in need of more volunteers to help. Please message me if you're interested in supporting intersectional genital autonomy for all children in Oregon. While we welcome help of all kinds, we specifically need help with: Graphic design, web design, contacts with press, fundraising, social media management, writing, non profit experience, academic research opportunities, tabling events, etc.

Intact Global is also looking for Intersex plaintiffs who have experienced Intersex related genital cutting in Oregon at any date to add to the Equal Protection Challenge against forced, non-religious genital mutilation. As well as trans plaintiffs who have experienced penile circumcision in Oregon to add to the legal challenge.

Please email me at Allie@autonomycollective.org if you'd like to come forward as a plaintiff or are interested in volunteering. If you're in need of support on violated genital autonomy or would like to help advocate you can join a group at our website: autonomycollective.org/groups.

Alliana,
Founder of the Genital Autonomy Collective

in my opinion, there are 2 key takeaways from 'white fragility' by robin diangelo:

1. racism is not an ‘either / or’ binary but rather a continuum &
2. the challenge is to accept and grapple with this truth.

in 'what white people can do next', emma dabiri unveils race as a social construct—something invented rather than something that has always existed.

i loved her voice throughout the narrative. it isn't just strong or matter-of-fact. it's fierce, it's frustrated, it's hopeful, it's kind. it is all of these things, and it is entirely one of a kind.

I am so glad that Activist Witch (Ysha) has shared this post on Kofi and discussed the importance of #intersectionality as it is crucial to not only #Activism and #intent for #witchcraft, but also to our everyday lives.

Many people have both marginalized and privileged identities. One doesn't erase the other for any of us.

We all need to stand together in #Solidarity

@racebannon, I think this ties together quite well with your Medium article quite nicely.

The U.S. has become a fascist state. People are being grabbed off the streets and illegally detained, deported and disappeared.

Marginalized groups are watching their civil rights vanish.

Disabled people are fighting funding cuts, threats to healthcare and mask bans.

Tourists from Canada, the UK and Germany been detained for weeks without any form of due process.

It is no longer a safe place. Stop traveling there. Stop vacationing there. Stop looking the other way and get radicalized. Get involved. Find ways to resist.

Whatever happens, don’t tell people to “just leave”. People are trapped. It costs money, time and resources that most don’t have to be able to relocate. Many countries would take you if you’re disabled or trans. Leaving is NOT the answer.

We have to recognize this as a powerful moment of intersectionality and work together to save as many lives as we can.

There are more of us than there are of them.

Also don’t be afraid to take breaks. You don’t need to be informed 24/7. You don’t need to fight every battle. Rest and recharge when needed.

And please wear a mask. It’s much easier to resist when you have your health. Include disabled people in the resistance effort. We have so much to offer. Don’t leave us behind.
