In an ocean of bad news, here's some science excitement - the beyond EPICA team has announced they've drilled an ice core dating continuosly to 1.2 million years ago!! This core will give key information about the transition to the 100-000 year earth - the cycle of glacials and interglacials in which we currently live. So cool (pun intended).

The Thalys terminated at Köln HBF, where I went to the Bahnbonus longue for some free goodies. We are #traininghomeforchristmas, and our #ICE left from station 7 at #Bruxellesmidi #Brusselzuid, very unusual (outside the zone for HSL that are platforms 1-6).
I guess they are having too many problems today, so its good that the ICE entrance model is flexible enough.
Speaking of problems, our ICE from Cologne has been cancelled, we reserved seats on the earlier one 1059 via Ddorf and Münster instead, barely getting it wheb changing #iceicebaby #nowträvelling
