Emelia 👸🏻<p>New weird MCAS symptom? Food that isn't actually spicy tastes "spicy", kinda like the sensation in the mouth after eating something peppery or with chili in it.</p><p>It's very weird. Emelia 👸🏻<p>Having a major attack of likely MCAS which involved tonnes of mucus coming from nose &amp; throat, tightness in the throat, near vomiting, uncontrollable shaking and a temperature spike — the only way I could calm was by somehow grabbing my shower head and running icy cold water over my head until my temperature dropped to 35c / 95f</p><p>And now I've tonnes of flatulence and other stomach stuff. I'm still producing mucus and coughing, my muscles are all tight.</p><p>Why? Because I dared eat some food which wouldn't normally trigger an attack but did today because I've had to have my windows open due to heat &amp; humidity inside and other reasons.</p><p>Will probably have other issues later. Broadwaybabyto<p>Long Covid can cause MCAS (mast cell activation syndrome) which gives many people alcohol intolerance. </p><p>I’m wildly allergic to alcohol and as my condition progressed I become unable to even be around open booze. </p><p>This graph shows the decline in alcohol sales in San Francisco from 2023 to 2024.
