Nicol Wistreich<p>Listening to <span class="h-card" translate="no"><a href="https://hachyderm.io/@openuk" class="u-url mention" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">@<span>openuk</span></a></span>'s manifesto launch today am struck by 2 things:<br>– how far the conversation & energy has come. Will never forget going to the Liverpool Labour Party conference during the Corbyn years & being told by Baroness Young at an event about <a href="https://social.coop/tags/nonprofittech" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>nonprofittech</span></a> that FOSS is idealistic as no-one gets paid.<br>– hearing Richard Hanson Graville of <a href="https://social.coop/tags/Heatweb" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Heatweb</span></a> talk of saving 50,000 tonnes of carbon with FOSS boiler software & picturing the potential of an open source, problem-solving new government.</p>
