The agreements for the 5,000 nurses, who are represented by Oregon Nurses Association (ONA), include improvements in staffing language, pay raises, and pay for missed meals or breaks during a shift.

"As Israel's 15-month annihilation of Gaza continues with intensified attacks on medical infrastructure and workers, an international coalition of advocacy groups is planning a #SickFromGenocide global day of action on Monday 'to take a stand against the targeted attacks on healthcare.'

"Organizer Doctors Against Genocide (#DAG) and co-sponsors including #HealthcareWorkersForPalestine, #PalestinianYouthMovement, #DoNoHarmCoalition, #LaborForPalestine, #JewishVoiceForPeace Health Advisory Council, and others are calling on healthcare workers around the world to take a day of mental health leave 'to reflect on the immense moral injury of funding a genocide and engage the most important aspect of treatment: publicly demanding an end to the genocide in Gaza.'

"Monday's day of action is set to include a '#SickFromGenocide' global vigil and pop-up clinics in cities across the United States, whose government gives Israel billions of dollars in weapons support each year.

"'For 15 months, we have watched in horror as children and families have been obliterated by unrelenting attacks,' DAG said in a statement Friday. 'Hospitals, the bedrock of lifesaving care, have been turned into death traps. The recent bombing and burning of #KamalAdwanHospital and the arrest of our colleague, the pediatrician Dr. #HussamAbuSafiya,exemplify the deliberate targeting of healthcare workers and facilities—tactics designed to accelerate the annihilation and forced displacement of the Palestinian people in Gaza.'"

Report from yesterday: Dr. Hussam Abu Safiya, director of Kamal Adwan Hospital in northern Gaza, reported:

- Israeli occupation forces detonated explosive robots near Kamal Adwan Hospital, destroying most of the facility’s water tanks.

-We called for immediate action to protect medical staff and patients, with around 72 people injured in the hospital.

-We urged the entry of surgical medical teams, supplies, and essential medicines to ensure the hospital can continue providing services to civilians.

Israel bombarded the Kamal Adwan hospital late on 21 November, injuring six of its medical staff, including some who were left in critical condition. The hospital’s main generator was destroyed, and its water tanks were punctured. Many of the hospital’s other essential equipment have been damaged or destroyed by #Israel.

An Israeli quadcopter also targeted medical staff at Al-Awda Hospital in northern #Gaza early on Friday.

Prior to Dr. Hussam Abu Safia's injury, he revealed that Kamal Adwan Hospital, one of the last few semi-functional hospitals in the northern strip, has been targeted numerous times – detailing each attack on the facility. Kamal Adwan #Hospital has now been attacked by Israel over eight times in the last few weeks.

They work for hospital conglomerate Corewell Health at eight hospitals and one outpatient facility, all in southeast Michigan. “We’re so excited we can hardly stand it,” said Katherine Wallace, a nurse at the hospital in Troy, who has been a core part of the campaign since October 2023. The union won the November election with 63 percent, with more than 85 percent voting. The union committee is Nurses for Nurses, part of Teamsters Joint Council 43.
