Apologies for the bad kerning. We felt compelled to make this nonetheless.

Yes. We're aware that people other than girls (especially trans+, enby, agender) code.

We also considered CatgirlHub, FoxgirlHub, TGirlHub, ADHDHub, AuDHDHub, FurryHub, TherianHub etc.

We lack the skills to make a generator. However, if anyone has the skills and spoons, Liv has opened an issue here. She already has many awesome generators on their image generator site.

Ah...

Just reading this now over at the #Mastodon #Github #Releases tag:

"Quoting other people is not implemented yet, and it is currently not possible to mark your own posts as allowing quotes. However, a new “Who can quote” setting has been added to the “Posting defaults” section of the user settings. This setting allows you to set a default that will be used for new posts made on Mastodon 4.5 and newer, when quote posts will be fully implemented."

It's been far too long since I haven't updated this properly, but here's a snapshot of some open source communities that have already moved off GritHub;

It seems like forge federation is a harder problem to crack than we thought when BorgSoft bought GH. But I'm still hopeful that one day, many of these forges will interoperate to create the experience of a unified code forging space.

I'm finally moving over to Radicle (radicle.xyz) instead of switching to another centralized code forge (like GitHub, GitLab, Codeberg, etc.). I definitely love the idea behind a #P2P code forge and I'm hopeful for Radicle's future, but I do have some reservations starting off:

1) Despite talking a lot about freedom and privacy in the tutorial, the group building Radicle (radworks.org/) is planning to sell hosting and make a profit via an Ethereum-based cryptocurrency (tally.xyz/gov/radworks) as well as NFTs and smart contracts. Some big Libertarian red flags there.

2) At some point there was a Swiss nonprofit "Radicle Foundation", but this now seems to be a for-profit venture (see radicle.xyz/history). I wish it could just be a nonprofit.

3) In the user guide chapter on private repos (radicle.xyz/guides/user), it says that I need to use a public DNS address trusted seed node to share the repo. I understand there's no DHT here, but I hope it's not too much of a pain to run this over my local network instead of the internet. (And yeah, I know I can use git locally, I just want to test Radicle locally.)

Overall, I think that if radworks turns out to be evil it will be a way easier transition to fork Radicle than it has been to leave GitHub, but I still wish I didn't have to worry.

So #github #dependabot stopped updating #dotnet dependencies completely (in most scenarios).

Snooping around, it seems like the old "legacy" updater has been made default - the new experimental one was the default for roughly a year by now. One option is to opt in explicitly to the experimental updater: github.com/dependabot/dependab

The other option I guess is waiting for @brettfo changes to get finally merged and then graduated from experimental to default github.com/dependabot/dependab

Is there an existing issue for this? I have searched the existing issues Package ecosystem nuget Package manager version No response Language version .NET 8 Manifest location and content before the...

The ongoing enshittification of GritHub is getting so bad that I can't even use web archiving sites to see the comments in an issue discussion;

Most of you are probably too old to remember that GH wasn't always the go-to place for publishing source code. There was a time that almost every open source project was hosted on the MySpace of code forges (and the origin of that term), SourceForge.

We've moved en masse before folks, it's time to do it again.
