@Lazarou holy fuck

Also, have you seen the people in LinkedIn who post these answers to their special chatGPT question?

After 1 or 2 years of interacting with chatgpt, people ask it to tell them about themselves. And chat GPT gives them a flowering beautiful complimentary paragraph of how awesome they are as a human being and how they're going to change the world and whatever the fuck.

FB is showing me photo restoration groups and my AI rage is so big.
"Here are my family members, can anyone restore this photo"
Some dickmaggot runs it through AI and comes out with *completely different people* and everyone goes "Oh so cool, great job!"
Nope. No. Nup.

Sigh.

I've posted one thing on my blog in 2023 about how AI companies are feeding the entire internet into the shredder and why this sucks for artists, and these days I get tons of spammy SEO emails about how my post resonated and if I would like to share their (undoubtedly LLM-written) guide on the creative possibilities of AI, blahblah.

Usually I just delete, but today I want to scream. I know the email was written with an LLM too, but AAAAAAAHHHHHHRRRRRGHHHH!!!

I signed up on #iNaturalist about 5 years ago and did a few postings/observations. Then, more recently I spoke with enough biologists who said they used the data and it was quite important and encouraged me to contribute to it, especially since I go to out-of-the-way places a lot (look at my observations map).

But, first, I took the time to read through their data/surveillance policy and, while I assumed bots would be *nonconsensually* scraping the data, contributing seemed useful enough to science that I could hold my nose and accept that. But direct, unmediated collaboration with Google and AI-anything is off the table for me.

Bummer, really.
