LibreWolf, will break something (often), then blame Firefox. Which only further hurts, Firefox, which in turn only hurts, LibreWolf. -- It is a snake eating its tail. I think the 1x Floorp broke something, they patched it right away, and they owned up to their issue. They did not try to pass the blame, as LibreWolf does.<br><br>2) Floorp is very similar to Vivaldi Browser. If Firefox, goes, it would be nice not to have a big learning curve, if you need to switch browsers. Root Moose<p><span class="h-card" translate="no"><a href="https://mastodon.social/@jackyan" class="u-url mention" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">@<span>jackyan</span></a></span> I've been up and down and sideways of all the alternatives to Chromium and Firefox browsers relatively lately. Unfortunately, none of them are really useful for day in day out use for modern web activities. </p><p>Midori, Dillo, Epiphany, and some others I forget... Sigh, none are fire and forget. The modern web is so broken...</p><p>I ended up settling on Floorp (Firefox derivative) as my daily driver on Linux, Windows, and Mac. Zen browser is good also but I couldn't untrain decades of finger memory and eye twitches to work with vertical tabs. Stopped trying to adapt! Ha!</p><p>On Android and iOS I use Firefox. Sync works with Floorp/Zen. I use a stand alone browser to access the evil Meta stuff directly (Librewolf on Linux, Waterfox on Android).</p><p>Vivaldi seems ok for a Chromium browser for testing stuff but I tend towards un-Googled Chromium. Broken web apps like bank stuff and such I'll use actual Chrome because corporate web sites suck and I'll just use the browser their smooth brain policies require. Sigh. I refuse to use Edge for anything.</p><p>I don't know if Ladybird and Servo will be viable alternatives in the future. The web is so broken that it may be beyond a browser to protect users. </p><p>I'm thinking that a cultural change to public computing paradigms needs to occur. More decentralization and force web apps like bank and corporate social media crap to be siloed and not able to jump out of their boxes or have visibility beyond their purpose. I guess the containerized tabs extensions help this in a practical way today. And the fediverse. Still early days for fedi and normal people are not really aware of it yet. Feels very similar to FF, as it is based on it, but has a Vertical Tabs interface, which I don't like. I ran with it all morning, but it feels too alien to me. Import option only showed Chrome, not FF, but FF Sync is supported, and worked, so I have all my FF passwords, bookmarks and history. Servo looks interesting, but I don't get the impression it's "production ready" yet. Ladybird, as far as I know is developed by some rather bigoted techbros, so also not tried. I'm favouring LibreWolf at the moment, as it feels a lot more homely. Will continue flitting between all of these for a week or so, as I need to use other websites I haven't yet tested. I'll be surprised if anything flat out fails to work, but time will tell.</p>

Something changed in Firefox that it's no longer a good choice to fork and create new browsers.<br>2.
