United Farm Workers Statement:

UFW statement on increased federal activity

Posted on June 10, 2025

We are aware of multiple federal immigration “enforcement” actions involving farm workers in multiple regions of California including those in Ventura, Kern, and Tulare counties.

Any federal actions designed to terrorize and separate farm worker communities is an attack on Californians and a dangerous waste of resources. Indiscriminate raids and chaotic sweeps put public safety at risk.

We call on every level of government to take every possible measure to protect immigrant workers and their families. We expect California’s federal, and state and local representatives to take immediate action to demand transparency.

We remain in close contact with farm worker families across California and across the country. We urge all agricultural employers to act immediately to protect their employees at their worksites, including taking practical steps to ‘harden’ their worksites. Employers should train all staff to understand their rights and the requirements needed to enter the property such as a signed judicial warrant.

Quote by TGAS:
"Apr 12, 2025
In this inspiring documentary, a Scandinavian family share their journey of transforming barren, lifeless soil into a thriving, self-sustaining ecosystem.
Over 12 years, they have built a regenerative permaculture farm with perennial plants, integrated livestock, and a resilient food system - all while creating a sustainable home and business.
With deep expertise in permaculture, agroforestry, and ecological design, Karoline Nolsø Aaen and Tycho Holcomb demonstrate that restoring the land is not only possible but essential for future generations. Through hands-on experience, research, and a passion for nature, they have developed a model farm that nurtures biodiversity, improves soil health, and produces nutrient-rich food.
This film offers a rare glimpse into the principles of regenerative agriculture, showing how dedication, knowledge, and a deep connection to nature can heal the land and inspire much needed change."

Algal Blooms - a threat to all life that relies on untreated water

This is a worldwide problem. In Scotland we already have to avoid some lochans and would never swim in places like Windermere when visiting friends and family.

Climate change is a contributing factor, but modern farming practices contribute - fertiliser runoff is a problem as well. More in #AltText

BREAKING: WORLD-FIRST EXPOSÉ

Between August and September 2024, Joey Carbstrong’s team recorded the first footage inside a CO₂ gas chamber pit system killing end-of-lay hens. CO₂ burns their throats, eyes, and lungs, causing acidosis as they suffocate, gasping and trying to escape. At Bradford’s HCF Abattoir—Red Tractor and RSPCA assured—over half the UK’s spent layers are slaughtered and sold in outlets like Tesco. Don’t support the egg industry. Live vegan.

www.acrplus.orgFER-PLAY | A new database brings change to EU agriculture with alternative fertilizersIn its next step towards sustainable agriculture, the FER-PLAY project has introduced its database, a comprehensive resource on alternative fertilizers. This innovative platform consolidates extensive information on fertilizers derived from various secondary raw materials like wastewater, sewage sludge, and bio-waste. With data on 60 value chains, FER-PLAY offers insights into the full life cycle of these fertilizers, from production to application.  The database stands out for its user-friendly design, allowing easy navigation through filters like production data, distribution, storage, content, cost, and legislation. It's a crucial tool for bridging the knowledge gap in the market, facilitating informed decision-making in the use of alternative fertilizers.  Focused on promoting circularity in agriculture, FER-PLAY evaluates each fertilizer chain based on factors like nutrient content, soil improvement, and environmental impact. The project prioritizes seven well-characterized chains for in-depth assessment, aiming to boost their adoption in EU agriculture.
