Google Search previously had a more user-friendly process for displaying coupon codes for online products. It has now become too obscure, removing a step that previously helped buyers complete purchases with the discount.

Amazon has launched Amazon Haul in Australia, a low cost shopping section within its app aimed at competing with ultra cheap online retailers like Temu, Shein and AliExpress. From Thursday, Australians can buy hundreds of thousands of items under $25 in categories such as fashion, beauty, homewares, cookware and pet supplies. Amazon is marketing Haul as a more trusted”l and convenient alternative, with all products required to meet its policies and comply with local laws.

But while Amazon frames this as choice for consumers, the real winners are global mega corporations, not local communities. Flooding the market with ultra cheap imports undercuts Australian small businesses, drives down wages in manufacturing and retail, and accelerates the throwaway culture fuelling our waste crisis. Once again, corporate giants are exploiting global supply chains to squeeze every last cent from workers and customers alike. We’ll need more bike couriers to deliver the junk.

The shopping site says "We’ve detected your request may be from a VPN, proxy, or anonymous tool. To ensure a secure shopping experience, we block certain traffic. Please switch to a regular home or mobile network to resolve the issue."

And I say, you know, I don't need this product anyway.
