I am a trans nonbinary neurodivergent disabled person who is chronically ill (ME/CFS and degenerative disc disease in lower spine).

My disability appeal is on hold right now as the US government is doing weird things with social security, and I can't really work right now due to my chronic illness making my life hell.

Which I think it's funny he is considering that, while at the same time saying we can't afford stuff like the Department of Education.

„Inklusion im Alltag. Wie kann echte gesellschaftliche Teilhabe gelingen?“

Erschreckend ist, das Menschen mit Behinderung immer noch zu wenig mitgedacht, mitgenommen und die Teilhabe der beinahe 10 % der Gesamtbevölkerung erschwert, z. T. sogar unmöglich gemacht wird. Nicht mitgezählt all die Menschen mit Behinderung, die erst gar keinen Antrag auf GdB stellen, da sie nicht die Kraft dafür aufbringen oder alleine dazu nicht in der Lage sind.

Die UN-Behindertenrechtskonvention fordert gleichberechtigter Zugang zu Bildung, Information und Kommunikation, zu Transportmitteln, kulturellem, politischem und öffentlichem Leben – sowie Einrichtungen und Diensten, die der Öffentlichkeit zur Verfügung stehen.

Das dies nicht bereits Standard ist, ist schlimm genug. Und auch bei der Entwicklung digitaler Dienstleistungen und Produkte gibt es Nachbesserungsbedarf.

Interessant, die Aussage zur Teilhabe im kulturellen Bereich, der zu oft ohnehin als teures und unnützes „Extra“ behandelt wird:

Verbesserungen im Kulturbereich sind nicht nur „nice to have“. Denn hier begegnen sich unterschiedliche Menschen, tauschen sich aus, diskutieren und lernen voneinander. Wenn Menschen mit Behinderungen der Zugang erschwert wird, werden ihre Sichtweisen und Lebenserfahrungen unterrepräsentiert. Das ist dann auch eine Frage der Demokratie, so Jürgen Dusel, Behindertenbeauftragter der Bundesregierung: Demokratie und Inklusion sind zwei Seiten einer Medaille.

Die Gesetze zu Inklusion und Teilhabe auf Bundes- und EU-Ebene sind geltendes Recht. Trotzdem müssen Menschen mit Behinderung und ihre Unterstützenden jeden Tag um diese Rechte kämpfen. Als Mensch mit Behinderung leidet man nicht nur unter den Beeinträchtigungen der Behinderung, sondern auch unter der Gesellschaft, die sie nicht angemessen berücksichtigt.

Walking through the meadow and fields of morning glories and sun flowers, the birds are chirping, the deer are grazing the squirrels and rabbits are playing, butterflies and honey bees are hard at work pollinating, a babbling brook flows into a tranquil pond where fish are skimming the surface catching bugs in the morning sun, in the distance a wolf stands watch as eagles soar, the horizon hidden but towering mountains with peaks of crisp snow, through the valley death has taken toll, for fires rage and war is waged, cities burned, people scream as their lives are on a train to a destructive grave, for hate and greed opened fear, allowing all to perish there, no grass to feel, no flowers to smell, no water to drink, no food to eat, discarded bodies rotting like left over meat, moments from paradise, to proud to see from what could be, they closed the sea, they polluted the air, from wealth and greed they all now bleed, no safety from the vault in a bank, mounds of cash have made the town melt, burning hell consume their feet, for no credit be to peace for me, ivory towers in ruins now, from life to death their is no one left.
