The #metadata #workshop of the #NFDI is about finding consensus on a NFDI Core Metadata Profile. The focus is on the 3 Metadata Schemas #DataCite #DCATAP and #schema.org. Now there are several steps to be taken like identifying the #coreelements with their #importancestatements and finding an agreement about how to fill them out. This does not exclude #domainspecific, more expressive schemas #nfdirocks @nfdi4objects #NFDICoreMetadataProfile #metadata #dataintegration #dataharmonisation

On my way to @FAU to meet with my dear colleague Sarah to discuss and work on our #datamodel for the #objectbiography #objectbiographies in @nfdi4objects. I look forward to those 3 days. #nfdirocks #nfdi #dataintegration #digitalheritage 🌐😊🏰🏺 zenodo.org/records/13936583

ZenodoDevelopment of the N4O Objects Ontology, Object Biography data model and Minimal metadata set in NFDI4ObjectsThis presentation gives a workshop insight into the data model and ontology development in NFDI4Objects using the concept of object biography. The development procedure is presented on the basis of two use cases: Use Case 1: The so called Iron Dust Lung from FAU's Anatomical Collection offers a use case for dealing with human remains Use Case 2: The Behaim Globe at the Germanisches Nationalmuseum was chosen as a use case to test the handling of a heavily researched and received object that still raises many questions. The data model and underlying ontology for object biographies is based on the lastest certified version 7.1.3 of the CIDOC CRM ISO 21127 Also the presentation gives an insight into the planned development of the N4O minimal data set and the object ontology as the basis for data consolidation for the consortium's knowledge graph: There is a development and implementation of the Minimal Metadata Reccomendation for Museums and Collections in WissKI. The NFDI4Objects minimal data set is based on https://www.minimaldatensatz.de (recommendation for museums), but not limited to it, as the basis for the MMDS is an evaluation of the needs in NFDI4Objects Task Areas 1-4, that know about the research data. This will be dealed with in the N4O TWG “N4O Minimaldatensatz and N4O Object Ontology” (Mailinglist https://www.listserv.dfn.de/sympa/info/n4o_twg_objectsontology_mmds, Rocket Chat: https://n4o-chat.nfdi.de/channel/TWG_ObjectsOntology_and_MinimalMetadataSet).

Obviously I missed posting for yesterday's #dayofdh2024 but there are 2 #DH meetings in the pipeline, one in Berlin coming Friday, one in Jena next week. 😊 And I finished my slides for dnb.de/EN/Kulturell/Veranstalt for next week, where I will give an insight into the research data in @nfdi4objects since #AuthorityFiles and #controlledVocabularies are important for any digital project. 🌐💻😊😇 #nfdi #dataintegration #researchdata #RDM #metadata #nfdirocks

ZenodoWhat's Cooking in the NFDI4Culture Kitchen? A KG-based Research Data Integration WorkflowThe National Research Data Infrastructure (NFDI) aims to provide a standardized and sustainable research data infrastructure across diverse do- mains, facilitating efficient research and scientific advancement. Despite encom- passing a wide range of scientific disciplines, NFDI consortia share a founda- tion of common goals and concepts, emphasizing collaboration and data inter- operability. Leveraging interconnected data offers new research opportunities, but requires availability in Linked Open Data (LOD) format. On example of NFDI4Culture, this paper addresses challenges of heterogeneous and isolated cultural heritage research data, and discusses efforts and results towards the cre- ation of NFDI4Culture-KG, including the establishment of a research data index, implementing an ETL (Extract-Transform-Load) environment, and engineering lightweight semantic representations.
