Jake in the desert<p>Today (May 5) in 1992, Wolfenstein 3D was released for DOS. There are very few things as satisfying as killing digital Nazis. </p><p>I was asked to talk about Wolfenstein 3D a while back on the <span class="h-card" translate="no"><a href="https://dosgame.club/@dosgameclub" class="u-url mention" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">@<span>dosgameclub</span></a></span> podcast (<a href="https://www.dosgameclub.com/wolfenstein3d" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" translate="no" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://www.</span><span class="">dosgameclub.com/wolfenstein3d</span><span class="invisible"></span></a>) with <span class="h-card" translate="no"><a href="https://dosgame.club/@Tijn" class="u-url mention" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">@<span>Tijn</span></a></span> and some other folks-- that was a blast. </p><p>I still play the DOS version of Wolf 3D sometimes myself, and sometimes the Xbox 360 version on the Series X. DesertFOX<p>Tonight, I uploaded the classic DOS game of "Zool: Ninja of the Nth Dimension" to the Internet Archive. I also found, restored and shared the complete Zool "PC Addendum".</p><p>Although Zool was originally a popular Amiga title from 1992, in 1993 it was ported to the IBM-PC. The game was released on a single 3.5 inch 720K floppy disk. Jake in the desert<p>Today (December 3) in 1993, Duke Nukem II was released for DOS. It was a vast improvement over the original Duke game, and it would be three more years until Duke would go 3D. Duke II is one of my all-time favorite 2D platformers (maybe my top favorite one) -- it's a total blast of a game.
