Firefly Bookstore<p>Skeleton Dude is still hung over from yesterday's DCC adventure. We have a new group of reavers today and they have promised even more mayhem! Firefly Bookstore<p>DCC Day has arrived and our Reavers are upstairs getting ready to slash through an epic battle. </p><p><a href="https://mastodon.online/tags/fireflybookstore" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>fireflybookstore</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.online/tags/keepinitkutztown" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>keepinitkutztown</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.online/tags/lehighvalley" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>lehighvalley</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.online/tags/indiebookstore" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>indiebookstore</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.online/tags/berkscounty" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>berkscounty</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.online/tags/DCCDay" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>DCCDay</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.online/tags/DCCRPG" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>DCCRPG</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.online/tags/DCCDay2025" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>DCCDay2025</span></a></p>
Dave J<p>I think I need to figure out how to make these.</p><p>I don’t have great <a href="https://dice.camp/tags/luck" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>luck</span></a> with VTTs, but my rolls with RL math rocks are TERRIBLE. I had one Irish GM offer to mail <a href="https://dice.camp/tags/dice" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>dice</span></a> to me in Australia, and a Mexican GM advised—straight-faced, no less—I seek out a santero.</p><p>I feel my <a href="https://dice.camp/tags/DCCRPG" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>DCCRPG</span></a> sets would require something pretty elaborate, though.</p><p><a href="https://dice.camp/tags/ttrpg" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>ttrpg</span></a> <a href="https://dice.camp/@Sophie/114642500883238997" rel="nofollow noopener" translate="no" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://</span><span class="ellipsis">dice.camp/@Sophie/114642500883</span><span class="invisible">238997</span></a></p>
Nerdronomicon<p>Seeing my contribution, 'Aufgebläht or Bust,' to the DCC Day 2025 kit alongside the others fills me with joyful queasiness in the best way!</p><p><a href="https://dice.camp/tags/dccday" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>dccday</span></a> <a href="https://dice.camp/tags/dccday2025" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>dccday2025</span></a> <a href="https://dice.camp/tags/dccrpg" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>dccrpg</span></a> <a href="https://dice.camp/tags/ttrpgs" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>ttrpgs</span></a> <a href="https://dice.camp/tags/osr" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>osr</span></a> <a href="https://dice.camp/tags/3pp" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>3pp</span></a> <span class="h-card" translate="no"><a href="https://bird.makeup/users/goodmangames" class="u-url mention" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">@<span>goodmangames</span></a></span></p>
Dave J<p>Moving along, in 2025, I'll tackle a new, weekly <a href="https://dice.camp/tags/OSE" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>OSE</span></a> game (<a href="https://dice.camp/tags/TheHallsOfArdenVul" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>TheHallsOfArdenVul</span></a>), as well as continuing campaigns of OSE, <a href="https://dice.camp/tags/CallOfCthulhu" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>CallOfCthulhu</span></a>, <a href="https://dice.camp/tags/DCCRPG" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>DCCRPG</span></a>, <a href="https://dice.camp/tags/DnD5e" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>DnD5e</span></a>, <a href="https://dice.camp/tags/TheOneRing" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>TheOneRing</span></a>, and <a href="https://dice.camp/tags/TravellerRPG" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>TravellerRPG</span></a> from 2024. And at the very least, I'll get to play in person at <a href="https://dice.camp/tags/CanCon" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>CanCon</span></a>, if not other cons and game days (possible now because I've finally settled down in a city). In all likelihood, I'll probably finally catch COVID, but that's the price of assembling in crowds these days, I guess.</p><p>[12/13]</p>
Robin Marx<p>Last night was session 20 in my Dungeon Crawl Classics RPG campaign. The heroes used a Speak With Dead scroll to interrogate a mummified sorcerer, seeking knowledge that can be used to defeat the Emerald Enchanter.</p><p>Happy with the answers to their questions, they magnanimously asked if they could perform a favor for the dead wizard. Once the current adventure is done, they agreed to deliver his dead body in its sarcophagus to distant Punjar. Mummy road trip!</p><p><a href="https://dice.camp/tags/DCCRPG" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>DCCRPG</span></a> <a href="https://dice.camp/tags/DCC" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>DCC</span></a></p>
Dave J<p>8. My favourite character? A three-way tie:</p><p>• Poor Cosmo Portwine, the <a href="https://dice.camp/tags/DCCRPG" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>DCCRPG</span></a> halfling, such a giving soul that he laid down his life for his friends, but when they checked his body, he’d sacrificed too much Luck to revive. 😢</p><p>• Neil Ditchitt, the opiate-addicted ex-lawyer in <a href="https://dice.camp/tags/TheBetween" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>TheBetween</span></a> (<a href="https://www.gauntlet-rpg.com/the-between.html" rel="nofollow noopener" translate="no" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://www.</span><span class="ellipsis">gauntlet-rpg.com/the-between.h</span><span class="invisible">tml</span></a>), from a family of witches, who courted spirits via increasingly extreme acts of self-harm.</p><p>• And Puddlebutt, of course: <a href="https://dice.camp/@davej/109531170826574338" rel="nofollow noopener" translate="no" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://</span><span class="ellipsis">dice.camp/@davej/1095311708265</span><span class="invisible">74338</span></a></p><p><a href="https://dice.camp/tags/RPGaDay" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>RPGaDay</span></a> <a href="https://dice.camp/tags/RPGaDay2023" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>RPGaDay2023</span></a> <a href="https://dice.camp/tags/TTRPG" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>TTRPG</span></a></p>
Dave J<p>4. My most recent purchase (as of writing this) was Marzio Muscadere’s <a href="https://dice.camp/tags/DCCRPG" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>DCCRPG</span></a> adventure “The Shadows About Hope” (<a href="https://www.drivethrurpg.com/product/425491/The-Shadows-About-Hope-An-Adventure-for-the-DCC-RPG" rel="nofollow noopener" translate="no" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://www.</span><span class="ellipsis">drivethrurpg.com/product/42549</span><span class="invisible">1/The-Shadows-About-Hope-An-Adventure-for-the-DCC-RPG</span></a>). I was lucky enough to play in one of Marzio’s games earlier this year, and had so much fun I decided to see what else he’d written for DCC. Turns out I already had a lot of it. 🤷🏻‍♂️</p><p>FWIW, I’ve also recently backed <a href="https://dice.camp/tags/XCrawlClassics" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>XCrawlClassics</span></a>, which has about a week left to go on Kickstarter: <a href="https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/devillich/xcrawl-classics-ttrpg" rel="nofollow noopener" translate="no" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://www.</span><span class="ellipsis">kickstarter.com/projects/devil</span><span class="invisible">lich/xcrawl-classics-ttrpg</span></a></p><p><a href="https://dice.camp/tags/RPGaDay" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>RPGaDay</span></a> <a href="https://dice.camp/tags/RPGaDay2023" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>RPGaDay2023</span></a> <a href="https://dice.camp/tags/TTRPG" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>TTRPG</span></a></p>
Dave J<p>3. My first <a href="https://dice.camp/tags/TTRPG" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>TTRPG</span></a> purchase this year was the Kickstarter for Stefan Surrat’s <a href="https://dice.camp/tags/DCCRPG" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>DCCRPG</span></a> supplement “Elfland: Beyond the Fields We Know” (<a href="https://www.drivethrurpg.com/product/422473/Elfland-Beyond-the-Fields-We-Know--DCC-Dungeon-Crawl-Classics" rel="nofollow noopener" translate="no" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://www.</span><span class="ellipsis">drivethrurpg.com/product/42247</span><span class="invisible">3/Elfland-Beyond-the-Fields-We-Know--DCC-Dungeon-Crawl-Classics</span></a>). It came with a couple of adventures, and I picked up his collection of vintage comic VTT tokens as an add-on, too. <a href="https://dice.camp/tags/RPGaDay" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>RPGaDay</span></a> <a href="https://dice.camp/tags/RPGaDay2023" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>RPGaDay2023</span></a></p>

Dave J<p>11. Have I played a hexcrawl? Yes—though not frequently. I play <a href="https://dice.camp/tags/TTRPG" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>TTRPG</span></a> online and in discrete 3- or 4-hour blocks, and though crawling is a big thing in <a href="https://dice.camp/tags/OSR" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>OSR</span></a>, it doesn’t lend itself well to those constraints. I’ve helped playtest a couple for <a href="https://dice.camp/tags/DCCRPG" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>DCCRPG</span></a> recently, but that’s all. I ran hexcrawls back in the late 80s/early 90s, though; even back then, it was sufficiently retro that many gamers found the experience novel. <a href="https://dice.camp/tags/gtkm" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>gtkm</span></a></p>
