@os_sci @zandbelt @mboelen @Morpurgo @teacher_rick Ook hebben we goede hulp gehad van @kkeijzer van interlunium.nl/ :blobcathappy:

Als de FW WP-bit eenmaal uit is kun je het script van MrChromebox draaien wat de Bios overschrijft met CoreBoot.

Daarna is het een gewoon laptopje waar je iedere Linux distro naar keuze op kunt draaien. :opensource: :archlinux: :linuxmintnew: :debian: :ubuntu: :kubuntu: 🚀

𝗙𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗰𝗼𝗿𝗲𝗯𝗼𝗼𝘁 𝗨𝗽𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗲𝘀 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗳𝘄𝘂𝗽𝗱 𝟮.𝟬.𝟭𝟯.

With 𝗳𝘄𝘂𝗽𝗱 𝟮.𝟬.𝟭𝟯, you can now update coreboot without losing your customised settings or boot entries!

Even better, updates now complete in about 𝟲𝟬 seconds, instead of the usual 3–10 minutes.

Fast, reliable, and zero reconfiguration.

Also, I recommend to read this #FreeBSD wiki article about suspend setup:

wiki.freebsd.org/SuspendResume

And look to the linked lists about tested laptops.

In my experience, the suspend/resume much more depends on the software in the your BIOS chip. E.g. #Thinkpad X220 with proprietary BIOS resumes instantly (tested on FreeBSD 10/11). And X220 with #coreboot / #libreboot needs near 10 seconds to wake up (FreeBSD 14.2/14.3)

We had a great experience at #DebConf25!

We brought our two laptop models and our brand new NUC Box with Dasharo coreboot firmware.

It was great to see how much recognition and interest there was. Between the tech talks and hallway chats, we really enjoyed the spirit of the Debian community.

🙏 Thanks to everyone who visited our stand!
📅 Any recommendations for other FOSS conferences we should join?
