Aaron<p>The key mechanism that enables wealth extraction by a company is that shareholders represent a privileged subset of the community, to whom all profits go. If shareholders instead consisted of the entire community, with equal shares, any profits are returned to the entire community instead of concentrated into the hands of a privileged few. This model is called a cooperative. They already exist. There is a good chance you are a member of at least one, without even realizing it. And they prevent the formation of an oligarchy.</p><p><a href="https://techhub.social/tags/extraction" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>extraction</span></a><br><a href="https://techhub.social/tags/company" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>company</span></a><br><a href="https://techhub.social/tags/profit" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>profit</span></a><br><a href="https://techhub.social/tags/extraction" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>extraction</span></a><br><a href="https://techhub.social/tags/shares" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>shares</span></a><br><a href="https://techhub.social/tags/shareholders" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>shareholders</span></a><br><a href="https://techhub.social/tags/coops" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>coops</span></a><br><a href="https://techhub.social/tags/cooperatives" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>cooperatives</span></a><br><a href="https://techhub.social/tags/oligarchy" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>oligarchy</span></a></p>
