Currently at the part of the book where FB are touting their ability to target teenagers with ads when they are feeling their most emotionally vulnerable. Shower of bastards.</p>
Veronica Olsen 🏳️‍🌈🇳🇴🌻<p>I finally finished reading Careless People. I read about 2/3 of it right after it came out, and then set it aside for a bit.</p><p>It's an interesting read. I already knew that Facebook is a despicable company which has done a lot of harm in the world, so a lot of the content itself isn't new. But the book does provide the inside view of the people behind it all. Let's just say "careless" is a very diplomatic term. I don't normally read tell all books but this one is worth a read. You can get through it quickly as it isn't a difficult read. But if you have friends and/or family that use Facebook and they are still capable of any kind of critical thought you should buy them a copy of the book. It's chilling.</p>

The Drop Bear 2.0<p>I finished reading <a href="https://aus.social/tags/CarelessPeople" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>CarelessPeople</span></a> While the content of the whole book is pretty horrendous, the last third really goes into detail about the incredible, tangible damage Facebook has done in the world.</p>
