Es sieht nicht gut aus für alternative und degoogled #Android OS. Nachdem #DivestOS Ende 2024 aufgehört hat zu existieren,wird nun auch #CalyxOS faktisch eingestellt. /e/OS ist securitymäßig nicht empfehlenswert. Bleiben nur noch #GrapheneOS und (mit Abstrichen) #IodeOS

My phone is on its last legs and I'm trying to decide on what to do with regards to getting a new one. It seems that a lot of things like banking apps, MitID, MobilePay etc doesn't work on custom ROMS like #CalyxOS #GrapheneOS and #e_OS

What do you recommend to stay private and secure while still owning a smartphone in #Denmark in 2025?

Is it just a matter of banking on a computer, using a hardware token for MitID and forgetting about MobilePay (probably good advice in general I know) altogether?

Ich überlege seit der Meldung, dass CalyxOS für mindestens (weil man weiß ja nicht, was danach kommt) 6 Monate die Entwicklung einstellt, was ich machen soll.
Weil interne Dinge (die Gründer haben CalyxOS verlassen) UND eventuell ist das ja auch ein Problem, dass Google neuerdings die Entwicklung von alternativen OS erschwert.
Ich bin, seit ich mein neues Fairphone mit CalyxOS vor nicht allzu langer Zeit eingerichtet hatte, sehr sehr zufrieden gewesen damit und habe weder Zeit noch Lust, mich um ein anderes alternatives OS zu kümmern (weil Recherche welches OS und dann auch der ganze Download der bisher gespeicherten Dateien).
Wie seht ihr das denn?
Könnte es Sinn ergeben, einfach das halbe Jahr abzuwarten und sich dann nochmal damit zu beschäftigen?
Oder lieber gleich ein anderes OS suchen?
Bin echt bisschen traurig, weil ich mich sehr gefreut habe, dass CalyxOS auf dem Fairphone5 so gut läuft.

I'm debating on whether to move to GrapheneOS or, since their social media team attacked and "banned" me, and accused me of being some kind of spy because I mentioned CalyxOS in a comment, I may just use regular #Android and lock it down the best I can.

Die @DeutscheBank stellt ab 25.08.2025 das mobile Bezahlen per App unter Android ein – und zwingt alle zur Nutzung von Google Wallet.

Wer alternative Systeme wie GrapheneOS, /e/OS, LineageOS, CalyxOS, iodéOS oder Fairphone OS (ohne Google) nutzt, wird ausgeschlossen.
Freiheit, Datenschutz, Nachhaltigkeit? Offenbar unerwünscht.

Für Geräte mit #GrapheneOS gibt es übrigens noch kein Update, das den "Workaround" von Google übernimmt, obgleich ein entsprechendes Update noch kommen soll. Keine Ahnung wie die Lage bei #CalyxOS, #LineageOS und Co ist.

So, now I’m getting treated differently just because I picked #GrapheneOS? In a so-called “free” world, I can’t even choose my own software without people lining up to judge me? That’s pathetic.

If my preferences make you so mad, that’s your problem, not mine. I refuse to let anyone shame me or push me around over my device choices.

Find something better to do than policing what other people use. I’m done listening to this hypocrisy.
