#Casio #GShock MTG B-1000VL

Vamos con otro #miercolesderelojesdepulsera. Hoy toca un Casio AE-1200WHD, Casio Royale para los amigos. Seguramente sea mi Casio no G-Shock favorito. Las complicaciones que tiene arriba son bastante inútiles a efectos prácticos, pero le dan mucho carisma al modelo. Cómodo, fiable, económico y de lectura fácil. ¿Qué más se puede pedir?

For those with an unhealthy interest in #watches you may not know that #Rolex was founded in #London as Wildorf and Davis, later on the name Rolex was registered. The company moved to #Switzerland some years after it was founded.

I would like to confirm, I have not and will probably never own a Rolex. I will stick to #Seiko and similar for now. Research salaries don't often stretch to a Rolex, but I may target a cheap #Casio in future to give the illusion of wealth.

Hoy para el #miercolesderelojesdepulsera toca un clasicazo, el mítico reloj calculadora de Casio o CA-53W. Tengo dos de este modelo, uno moderno en verde con pantalla negativa que es tan ilegible como bonito y este clásico que encontré en el rastro de la Avenida de Asturias de Madrid del que no tengo claro el año pero el “assembled in Korea” de la caja me hace pensar que tendrá tranquilamente 30 años. No es el reloj más práctico del mundo (pantalla pequeña, sin luz, poquísimas funciones) pero seguramente sea uno de los más icónicos. Muchas veces es el reloj que elijo llevar cuando me toca dar una charla técnica para enviar el mensaje a la audiencia de que se encuentran ante un auténtico nerdazo

Pues vamos con el #miercolesderelojesdepulsera. Hoy toca un G-Shock GA-B2100 (CasiOak para los amigos) que es uno de mis favoritos absolutos para el día a día. Tiene Bluetooth pero es absolutamente irrelevante, se conecta 4 veces al día al teléfono para sincronizar la hora y ya. Hubiera preferido mejor que se ahorrasen el BT y fuese radiocontrolado. Es solar así que no te tienes que preocupar de la batería aunque con la tontería de Bluetooth alguna vez se me ha quedado bastante baja y le he tenido que meter un poco de chicha con un cargador de led. Perfectamente legible y extremadamente cantoso gracias a su color amarillo. Me encanta.

For the past 7 years I truly couldn't live without a #smartwatch. I had to have it on my wrist, being constantly notified, have my health tracked and all of that.

Two months ago I bought a #Casio F-91W, just an impulse. I wanted to have it. Not wear it, just have it. But I started wearing this absolutely #basic, almost 40 years old piece and... I love it. It tells time. Just that.

Now I sleep better, I'm not as distracted, and way less annoyed. How peculiar..

I adore #Casio and #Panasonic when it comes to dependable and rugged consumer electronics. Yet...

I have this #protrek swg-100 watch since 2009 and it has been a reliable #watch but terrible wrist watch. Damn strap ripped after 6 years and a new one didn't even last 4 years.

I am done buying new straps and went full DIY on it with 3d printed TPU strap. I will be keeping this watch in emergency bag from now on.

#Casio Modell WVA-105H

I just learned that #Casio made a #watch in the late #1980s that could broadcast sound over low FM frequencies. In this video, they pipe "Eye of the Tiger" into the mic of the watch and broadcast it to a nearby boombox, which plays it back via its FM receiver.

I think this is absolutely amazing and I would have ruled the school if I had had one of those. (Instead, I wore a very unimpressive but also very 1980s Swatch)
