Wordy Words on WordsAs a young adult, there was this strange time where I got a job in a different town.<br> <br> I moved into it alone and worked for about a week before I was able to drive back home and get my wife and our few belongings (starting a life together is a weird thing to think back on).<br> <br> In that week, though, I had nothing in the house. I bought a TV because we didn’t have one (wasn’t able to get TV service until the first paycheck came in, though) and slept on the cardboard box it came in.<br> <br> It was the summer in Georgia so daily thunderstorms would happen in the evening and I just sat there on the floor until it was time to sleep on the box.<br> <br> But I did have this book so I was fine (more or less).<br> <br> Besides the jive - which is cringe-inducing to an uncomfortable level - I love this book. I thought the pacing was really good and I loved the space between the doors.<br> <br> I’ve read critiques that express distaste for King’s “boring,” parts like the space between doors or most of The Shining, but I think there’s purpose to it. The journey was supposed to be long and arduous and you don’t get that point across if you skip the space between the doors for the sake of a fast, exciting read. And, honestly, the story is better for it.<br> <br> This book also introduced Eddie, who just might be my favorite King character of all time.<br> <br> It was interesting re-reading this. I enjoyed it the first time (in the time between moving in and going to get my wife, I read books 2-4) but this time was better as my wife and I are together this time and I at least have a couch to sit on. ;-)<br> <br> <a href="https://pixelfed.social/discover/tags/bookstagram?src=hash" class="u-url hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#bookstagram</a> <a href="https://pixelfed.social/discover/tags/book?src=hash" class="u-url hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#book</a> <a href="https://pixelfed.social/discover/tags/books?src=hash" class="u-url hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#books</a> <a href="https://pixelfed.social/discover/tags/bookreview?src=hash" class="u-url hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#bookreview</a> <a href="https://pixelfed.social/discover/tags/bookrecommendation?src=hash" class="u-url hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#bookrecommendation</a> <a href="https://pixelfed.social/discover/tags/bookrecommendations?src=hash" class="u-url hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#bookrecommendations</a> <a href="https://pixelfed.social/discover/tags/booklover?src=hash" class="u-url hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#booklover</a> <a href="https://pixelfed.social/discover/tags/booknerd?src=hash" class="u-url hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#booknerd</a> <a href="https://pixelfed.social/discover/tags/bookaddict?src=hash" class="u-url hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#bookaddict</a> <a href="https://pixelfed.social/discover/tags/bookcover?src=hash" class="u-url hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#bookcover</a> <a href="https://pixelfed.social/discover/tags/read?src=hash" class="u-url hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#read</a> <a href="https://pixelfed.social/discover/tags/wordywordsonwords?src=hash" class="u-url hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#wordywordsonwords</a> <a href="https://pixelfed.social/discover/tags/readmore?src=hash" class="u-url hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#readmore</a> <a href="https://pixelfed.social/discover/tags/readmorebooks?src=hash" class="u-url hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#readmorebooks</a> <a href="https://pixelfed.social/discover/tags/readersofinstagram?src=hash" class="u-url hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#readersofinstagram</a> <a href="https://pixelfed.social/discover/tags/reader?src=hash" class="u-url hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#reader</a> <a href="https://pixelfed.social/discover/tags/constantreader?src=hash" class="u-url hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#constantreader</a> <a href="https://pixelfed.social/discover/tags/stephenking?src=hash" class="u-url hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#stephenking</a> <a href="https://pixelfed.social/discover/tags/stephenkingbooks?src=hash" class="u-url hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#stephenkingbooks</a> <a href="https://pixelfed.social/discover/tags/stephenkingdarktower?src=hash" class="u-url hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#stephenkingdarktower</a> <a href="https://pixelfed.social/discover/tags/stephenkingfan?src=hash" class="u-url hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#stephenkingfan</a> <a href="https://pixelfed.social/discover/tags/darktower?src=hash" class="u-url hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#darktower</a> <a href="https://pixelfed.social/discover/tags/darktowerseries?src=hash" class="u-url hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#darktowerseries</a> <a href="https://pixelfed.social/discover/tags/fantasy?src=hash" class="u-url hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#fantasy</a> <a href="https://pixelfed.social/discover/tags/fantasybooks?src=hash" class="u-url hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#fantasybooks</a> <a href="https://pixelfed.social/discover/tags/fantasyseries?src=hash" class="u-url hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#fantasyseries</a>
