#BirdNet

This is fun - I've set up a Pi running Acoupi and the BirdNet detection model. It sits in the garden and posts to this mastodon account when it hears something

Links to software and hardware are in the account profile, originally only the BatDetect2 model was available which is why it's a bat-themed account.

Next step would be to get it all running on a solar powered pi zero and deploy it somewhere cool..

I live in a back garden in North East England. Currently I am listening for birds instead, as there's not many bats about. Struggling with sparrows and occasionally mis-identifying them as various North American birds.

Since June 2021 I've had an #AudioMoth constantly recording bird song in our garden from 2 hours before sunrise to 2 hours after sunset. Over the past months I've been using #BirdNet to identify all the bird species.

Today I've managed to spit out my first graphs. I'm excited to finally see results so wanted to share them. There's all sorts of things happening.

Next I'll be comparing these automated patterns with all the counts I make manually.

Does anyone have experience with running #ADSB software on #Docker on a #RaspberryPi ?

My current ADS-B setup is feeding a half dozen different aggregators with all of their various softwares kludged together and somehow working. But I'd like to containerize the various ADS-B feeder softwares.

I also want to install #BirdNet-Pi onto the same Raspberry Pi and set it up to work with multiple IP Cam audio feeds which means multiple installs

Will Docker allow me to do all of this?
