Old walkerImpulse buy! This house was shipped from Chicago USA via the port of Rotterdam(Netherlands), then via train to Bad Ischl railway-station and then up the narrow mountain roads to its final location at to Kaltenbach, Bad Ischl, Austria . This was an pre-fabricated house that was on display at the World Expo in the year 1893 in Chicago USA. The Berlin-born playwright/theatre-critic/theatre-manager Oscar Blumenthal was visiting the World Expo and saw this house and bought it. It arrived at Kaltenbach in 1895. It is built from hard-wearing durable Canadian Pitch Pine and still looks impressive today, standing alone among tall trees.
