Day 429. Following up on the shit from day 427. #Microsoft did not only disable the creation of #GitHub issues on their #Azure repositories. They disabled the entire issues section, which means that all previously created issues can no longer be viewed either. Years of bug reports, discussions, workarounds... accumulated knowledge just went down the drain. Hopefully you haven't linked to any of these issues in your own docs (we surely did).

The problem with #unplugtrump is, it is impossible to fully live without. A lot of websites are hosted by #cloudflare or #AWS or #azure or #GCP.
I can buy from somewhere else, I can use another email service (but is this hosted on an European server?), but just surfing the internet, even only German sites, is mostly using big tech. Daimler, Bahn, Allianz and many others have migrated their IT to one of the top three cloud providers.

Day 424. Our #Azure VM deployment in North Europe just failed due to missing capacity - and not for the first time. Seemingly capacity shortages have spread from West Europe to North Europe by now.
Interesting in more than one way:
ITK (#Aarhus Municipality's department for Innovation, Technology and Creativity, together with Culture and Citizen Services in Aarhus Municipality, are moving their #cloud hosting from #Azure to Hetzner.
In addition to making the necessary move from the #US to #Europe, this will "reduce cloud costs by as much as 2/3."

Day 423. Continuing the shit from day 422, the only place you can find documentation on the API version "2024-06-01" is in #Microsoft's official #GitHub repository for #Azure API specifications.
Had a weird conversation with the #powerbi specialist at the company I’m contracted to.
She has a problem with the forcing of functionality in PowerBI to be only available in the #Azure controlled cloud held in the US. The cost and security were her main concerns. You can correct me if I misunderstood but in Australia it is starting to be noticed by companies and governments that they have security issues with all their #amazon cloud storage and the money going to US owned companies.
Oho, the city of Aarhus is ditching Azure and migrates their cloud platform to a EU provider. Good move 
(Obviously easier if you're already running your own services and not relying on Outlook and Teams.)
