The council is brainstorming with the local community about how to develop an underused mid-city area. On the ideas website, someone has proposed converting the underground space into a bomb shelter with a community space above that signals the seriousness of the place, but also 'hope and survival'. Because there are too few shelters at a time when war threatens.

It struck me that this ’Homage to Putin and Trump’ idea would once have seemed a bit Boaty McBoatface. Now it seems normal.

Glædelig mandag. Only a sort-of Monday for those of us in countries with an Easter bank holiday. I think I’ll spend my day off imagining all the things our countries could be spending our money on instead of new weapons and cybersecurity to defend us from Russia and the US. All those billions suddenly found. Imagine if we spent them instead on a four-day week every week. And Universal Basic Income. Anyway, here’s a postcard from #Aarhus to wish you a good week, no matter how many days are in it.

A gift-giving ceremony where strangers exchange resources, both physical things and help. You say what you want and what you can give. A spare phone. To learn to play the guitar. Flower seeds. Help to repair something.

Kudos to the good people who organise events like these and open them up to everyone. Open-source community. The opposite of enshittification. The opposite of oligarchy.

Speaking of community, thanks to @dukop & @seraf for spreading the word.

Have you ever made your own #zine? 🤔🎨 Short for magazine/fanzine, the term refers to making non-commercial, small scale publications - an easy, accessible way to share ideas, art and knowledge. It’s also a great format for #CoCreation!

Which is why UAC artist member @seraf (who you may know from their project #Fermentorskab), is co-facilitating the making of a collaborative #zine about imagining a food utopia! 🍽🥔🥕🥘 Together with the #FoodJustice group at #MellemfolkeligtSamvirke #Aarhus 🌿

@baoigheallain Sounds like an interesting book. Everyone in those planes was unthinkably brave. It's understandable that their battles and their successful raid on the local Gestapo HQ led local people to adopt the RAF colours as a symbol of resistance.

At the risk of RAF-splaining something you already know: the artist who painted the walls of flowers in the registry office at Rådhuset (city hall) in 1941 went back in 1945 to add one wee liberation bouquet in the RAF colours.

The colours of resistance – the red, white and blue of the British Royal Air Force. To show support for the RAF and the Allied forces during the occupation of Denmark, young people started wearing red-white-and-blue hats and clothes. The campaign became so widespread that the Nazis banned the fashion because it 'mocked the Wehrmacht’.
