Toni Aittoniemi<p>To sum up my first experience with <a href="https://mastodon.green/tags/aianxiety" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>aianxiety</span></a>, I’m not anxious for myself. I’ll be safe, my experience will be necessary to judge when the <a href="https://mastodon.green/tags/ai" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>ai</span></a> is being stupid.</p><p>I will retire comfortably, I think. But the kind of tech sector that comes after me will be very different.</p><p>There will be new gatekeepers to being successfull: They will be able to grant and take away powers equalling magic or even godhood eventually.</p><p>Material resources, compute, will bestow power like never before in human history.</p>
Toni Aittoniemi<p>I think today I’m first time dealing with <a href="https://mastodon.green/tags/AIanxiety" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>AIanxiety</span></a>: My job is perfect for being replaced by AI. </p><p>Sure, it will do a much shittier job than I do, but all the problems will be in time manageable by engineering.</p><p>Sure, I will pick up new skills and become a director of AI assistants instead. I’ll get paid less and less per line of code though.</p><p>But what I do will become a curiosity. Hand-written code will still be needed when the machine does something stupid, but that will be the exception.</p>
