@jmaris however much care because as blue sky and threads become more commercial, more servers in the fediverse will defederate from them. Some already have.

@peterbrown I personally disagree with the urge to defederate. I believe we should defederate based on actual infringements of the rules. I understand people want to block bsky and threads for ethical reasons, but I think it should be done by individuals not by servers. Mastodon allows users to block instances.
@jmaris fair enough. However, since one of the strengths of social media is its interactivity, it is quite frustrating to discover you’re trying to reply to a post that won’t see your reply.
